1.In the story, the character, Margot, missed out the opportunity of enjoying the Sun as a result of being locked up in a closet. The main reason for this was because she was different from the rest, and thus ostracised, as well as set herself apart. Also, the the other children were prejudice towards Margot, which led to them locking her up in the closet. This is because Margot, unlike the other children, was from Earth. She migrated to Venus when she was 4 years old. Which meant that she had seen the Sun before, unlike the children, which were nine. Since every 7 years, the Sun would come out, they would have been 2 years old when they saw it for the first time, which they most likely would not remember. Thus, they were jealous, and when she told everyone that the Sun would come out, they would not beleive her, and would lock her up inside a closet, missing out on an opportunity to look at the Sun.
2.If I were one of the children, to prevent such events from occuring, I would not take part in the bullying. Instead, I would persuade them to stop, as bullying is just wrong! By bullying someone, you would not only make the person feel sad, but you would also make them alone and ostracised. If I were to bully someone, I would not have a good feeling, instead, I would feel guilty.
The children, just because Margot was different from them, locked her up in a closet, and she missed out on the chance to look at the Sun, which only came out once in 7 years. However, if they had thought it through, they would relise that Margot was no different from them, she was a human being, and should be treated equally, and not be bullied. That is why bullying,in any way,is wrong. We are all humans, and should be given equal rights! So if I were one of them, I would not join them bullying Margot, and would become friends with her so she does not feel lonely.
