In my opinion, I find this event very meaningful as it encourages students to buy books they are interested in at a very discounted price. Books such as the Outsiders we sold at prices as cheap as 50cents. This enables students to actually own the books of thier interest and would allow them to develop a greater passion in reading books. To conclude, I think this event is very good and there should be more of such in the near future.

Overall, I find your essay a very decent one, with very good examples as well as some excellent elaboration. However, I find your thesis not clearly stated, and is mixed up in your first paragraph. Other than that, your essay should be fine. You have a wide range of vocabulary and a grammer-free essay. You should keep up with your good work.

This is a very good essay. You have stated your stand, but also acknoledged the counter-argument. You have a very organised essay, using the PEEL and ABC format. You have also gave a very detailed explaination of the points, and thus proving your stand. Also, you have included linkage, providing the link between your pont and the question.

I agree with you too. This is mainly because Bassanio is Antonio best friend, and that they are so close that they are willing to give up their lives for one another. As so, Antonio would definately be able to trust Bassanio, and that even if Bassanio did not return him the money, he would not mind that much. As friendship to him mean so much, thus if I was him, I would definately lend the money.

I agree with you, as I feel that racial slurs are very offensive, and that it is insulting. And that in such a multi-racial country like Singapore, it is important to maintain harmony among the races. However, there is no possible way to make racial slurs illigal. It would be impossible to stop it, as it would be hard to catch someone using it, yet alone the entire population of Singapore. However, I still feel it should be stopped. There are very devastating consequence, such as the Mario Hertogh Riots, as a result of racial tension. Thus, we should not increase the tension among races using such slurs.





Library blog-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

This book seems very interesting. With the review, it makes me want to go to the library to borrow that book. It is written with a teenagers point of view, allowing us to relate to the situation easier. It also contains mystery, one of my favourite genres, as it keeps the suspense, and makes it very exciting. Also, with such a uniqueness, it would be interesting to find out the way it was written. Such books should not only appeal to me, but also others that are around my age. It would be very easy to understand, and should be as good as the review makes it. Therefore, this book would definately be the next book on my list.

I feel that this is rather well done. You have written this essay in a organised manner, using the ABC and PEEL format. You also included a counter-argument, just to anknowledge this point.

I agree with what you have said. Saying that the court has already decleared her innocence, we should respect her rights and leave her alone. It will be wrong to post hatred campaigns all over the web. Therefore, I also feel that she we should not judge people based on what we feel, and leave Casey Anthony alone.

I feel that this is rather decent essay. You have organised your points well, using the ABC and PEEL format. Also, you have justified and elaborated well, which thus proves your thesis. However, there are a few flaws in your essay. Firstly, you have said that you agree to a "certain extent". This is a minor error, as anything that you agree or disagree is to a certain extent. Secondly, your conclusion is way too short. You have to restate your points, in a different manner, and sort of sum up your argument.

For me, I agree with you, saying that Casey Anthony should be left alone. This is because to me, I feel that we should respect the court's decision, and also respect her rights. As she is already proven innocent, we should not have hatred campaigns against her, and disrupt her life, especially when it does not affect any of us.

I agree with your opinion on the caskets, and how the thre suitors have choosen which casket to unlock. It is true that they judge it on her appearance, and that you have also supported it well with evidence from the text. Overall, it is quite well done.

Also, for you narrative, I find it enjoyable to read. You have managed to set the mystery atmosphere through the plot, and it kind of reminded me of Sherlock holmes. It clearly shows the topic of using logic to decide, and is also very good. However, to improve, you might want to describe the scene in futher detail, and thus enhancing the atmosphere.

I totally agree with you. I feel that even though it is important to have medical treatment, but some test should be avoid. Such as those that commonly give inaccurate results. This would save us not only money , but also complications, which may make matters worse. For the female patient who just experienced mild chest pain, the doctors had intervened and she eventually had to have a heart transplant. When I saw this, I was shocked. It also convinced me that some treatment should be prevented, and to make sure we don't end up like her, I feel that we should understand futher of the illness, and be catious of the test and scans. Also, for US spending 2.7 trillion, it is to expensive. Therefore, I agree that doctors should change their way, and to take responsibility of the patients, and also do the best for the patients, and not making matters worse.

I find this post quite well done. I clearly depicts a war scene, and that you have described it very vividly. From describing his uniform, to describing the atmosphere, it is all added to the post, which allows it to have the feeling of a battlefield. All the shout, shooting and war cries have been described, and that you have also used figurative language such as metaphors and personification to help enhance the description. It gives a form of imagery, which allows us to be as if in the scene itself. Therefore, this is very good.
