Descriptive Writing-war Online lesson #7

This picture depicts a scene of the 1968 Vietnam War. The scene was chaotic, with scarefoldings scattered across the ground, as war rampaged across the entire country of Vietnam. It gives a very depressing and moody tone to the picture, especially with the soilder lying on the ground, motionless. It also shows his comrates desprately trying to aid him, but to no avail. The soilder is dead, with his beloved rifle by his side, his M16. He had multiple wounds on him, and had a rather tattered attire, as if he had wore it for days. His comrates seem to be devastated about a fellow ally's death. However, it also seems that they are in dismay, as they knew that their chances of escaping alive was slim, and that they, most likely, would end up like him. The setting also shows the destruction the war had brought. In closer detail, it looks like a rubbish dump, with scarefolding everywhere. As well as pieces of brick, cement all on the dirt, hard ground. This setting give a very sad tone to the picture, and is very bitter scene to be veiwed at. However, this, is the sight of war...

  1. I feel that this description of the war photo is a very vivid one.It is able to describe most of the physical aspects of the people and their expression that is in the photo.

However, in this description you have a spelling error, that is "Scarefolding". If i am not wrong, perhaps you were referring to "scaffolding". Perhaps you should change it soon.

It is only a mistake that we might all make. So, i think that this description is fairly well written. Thank You!
